House Bill 1842, passed during the 84th Legislative Session, permits Texas public school districts to becom e Districts of Innovation. This distinction gives local school districts more flexibility and local control to support innovation and local initiatives to improve educational outcomes for the benefit of students.

 

On November 12, 2015, the Board of Trustees, held a public meeting, adopted a resolution and appointed a District Innovation Team (DIT).

The plan was approved by the Board of Trustess by a unaimous vote on June 9, 2016.

What is a District of Innovation?
